HMRC have released more information about the Furlough portal and what information you need to input. There has been a lot of speculation about how the portal will work. Most assumed that the portal would be automatic, however this doesn’t appear to be case. You (the employer) will need to calculate the amount you are claiming. HMRC will retain the right to retrospectively audit all aspects of your claim.
Please note you are claiming 80% of each employee’s monthly gross pay, 80% of monthly Employers National Insurance, and 80% of monthly Employers pension scheme (statutory limit of 3%).
Most labs will have fewer than 100 furloughed staff. You will be asked to enter details of each employee you are claiming for directly into the system.
